Mark “Statman” Skevich’s Blog
Hall of Shame
This blog is not just about the fact that no one was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame this year, it's about performance enhancing drugs and the sad realities of cheating in sports in general. Lance Armstrong and the MLB Hall of Fame are the recent topics in sports right now and I will discuss those topics, but this is a story that has been going on for quite some time now. It's a shame that all sports are tainted because of PED's and cheating but it's the sad reality of the sports world.

View →Some Fans Think It’s A Sin That The Knick’s Didn’t Get Lin But As Long As We Win That’s The Important Thing
After Jeremy Lin and the Rockets recent victory over the Knicks ending the Knicks undefeated streak at the garden, some fans still think that Jeremy Lin should still be a player for the New York Knicks and it was a mistake for the Knicks franchise to not sign him. I will go over 2 quick reasons why I'm glad he's in Houston as much as I enjoyed Linsanity in NY while it lasted.
View →Is Floyd Mayweather Floyd Duckweather or Floyd Waybetter?
Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather is a topic discussed so often that some people are sick of hearing about it but will still continue reading this just because it's still a fight everyone wants to see and a hot topic in the world of boxing. Boxing has been dying down with controversial decisions and overhyped fight's but we just had a good one in Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez 4 even though it feels like they fraught 100 times we finally have a knockout as Pac Man got knocked out in the 6th round and there are many meme's making fun of Pacquaio on the internet but that's not what this blog is about. It's about Pacquiao vs Mayweather and my thought's on the whole situation and who would win and will win if it ever happens.

As promised on last nights radio episode we have posted this video of Giants Wide reciever Victor Cruz catching a football that was thrown out of a plane. Do you believe it? Is it real? We'll let you decide what you think but I'm just wondering why there was no salsa dance after. I guess only after touchdowns like he did as the Giants grated the cheeseheads last night on Sunday Night Football.

View →My Generation is Better Than Yours
This is what everyone thinks when they think of their heroes in sports growing up. Babe Ruth or Barry Bonds? Jordan or LBJ? etc. "No one will every be better than so and so" and "no one will ever beat this record". These are common statements made by fans throughout the history of sports and guess what? Better players emerged and records were broken. Watching the Olympics is a perfect example of the evolution of the athlete. Records are constantly being broken as athletes become faster and stronger than before. Here's my thoughts on athletes in different sports.
View →Diet and Exercise
The Beach season is here. Are you happy with your body? I'm not. I've tried a lot of things in the past to lose weight. I tried diet pills, joining a gym that I would only go to on random spurts but not consistently. I even tried motivating myself by doing the Biggest Winner Weight Loss Challenge on youtube and it started out great as I lost about 25 pounds in 6 weeks. The second half didn't work out so well and the reason was simple. Excuses. Personal issues making me want to give up, cheating on my diet because I'm doing well, taking days off from my workout, and so on. It's even harder to stick to a diet when you're doing well because you feel you've earned the right to cheat. I'm not saying you shouldn't treat yourself every now and then, but set a limit at least like once a week I can have whatever it is that you want to reward yourself with. Because if not then it will get out of hand and you will waste what you've accomplished and eventually give up.
